Preparation

Would you like to learn more about contemporary art, the positions and themes of our collections, or our exhibitions? To help you prepare, you will find our teaching materials as well as the current program of training courses on these pages.

Art and the curriculum

In accordance with the curricula, we have developed ten themes relating to the Brandhorst Collection, which we have prepared for pupils. There we present artistic positions and artworks from the collection. In addition, you can download handouts for the preparation of entire lessons or project weeks, which we have designed in cooperation with teachers for interdisciplinary lessons.

Impulses for lesson preparation

Use our “Be Creative” media library to prepare your lessons, find out in advance about artists, artworks and artistic techniques, or integrate individual pages directly into your lessons. The information, enriched with audio and video formats, is designed for young people and playfully invites them to get to know and discover contemporary art in the classroom.

Training

As a teacher, would you like to swap sides for once? We invite you—virtually or in person—to Museum Brandhorst and, in cooperation with the Museum Educational Center, offer training courses on a wide variety of topics and formats from to time. If no training course is on offer right now, please check back soon!

Guidelines for the classroom

Our themes intersect concretely between our collection and the curriculum for interdisciplinary teaching. For this reason, we are working with teachers to develop ideas to make it as easy as possible for you. More guidelines will be coming soon, feel free to check back and see!
