Description
UNDERSTANDING ABSTRACTION
Together, we look at the abstraction of Cy Twombly - a conceptual approach through the theoretical abstraction of poems and poetry. How does Twombly visualize certain texts?
We will explore this in the exhibition and then get to work ourselves in the Factory. We will listen to pieces of music or poetry and use them to move into abstraction. We can bring our own music with us and transform it into paintings on paper.
We will also deal with media, such as acrylic paint, charcoal and pencil. Acrylic paint, for example, can be used in different ways, such as glazing or opaque.
What different techniques are available to us here and how do we invent an abstract landscape ourselves?
The workshop is led by the artist Niloufar Shirani.
