Lucy McKenzie is a young Scottish artist living in Belgium. With her art she connects yesterday with today, likes to get ideas from other fields such as architecture, graphic design, fashion and advertising, and often collaborates with experts in these areas. But she is not a copycat, even though it might sometimes look that way. Rather, she has mastered an art that many have thought was lost: the perfection of craftsmanship in painting and drawing, even to the point of optical illusion. It takes a lot of practice to paint as well as Lucy – also in seeing! So don’t lose any time, take a look at some of the works in our online collection and latch onto Lucy’s trail!

When your registration is confirmed you will receive a link to the online offer and, for the workshops, also a list of materials. After all, our workshops are not only about listening and watching, but also doing and making.
On the Museum Brandhorst website you will find further ideas for engaging with Lucy McKenzie’s art:
For all parents who would like to learn more about this exceptional Scottish artist, we recommend the Artist Talk with Lucy McKenzie on our website.
