Description

FROM REALITY TO ABSTRACTION

With simple gestures and actions we will create our own abstract works of art. For this we will use everyday objects and experiment with two artistic gestures: repetition and frottage. In repetition, we duplicate outlines or shapes as many times as we like and see what happens between the lines. In frottage, we select objects to trace with paper and pencils, creating an abstract pattern. We then work on the resulting structures using watercolors. Playfully and simply, we explore how very real objects can be transformed into an abstract representation, allowing pictures to emerge. There are no limits to the imagination.

The workshop will be run by artist Charlotte Giacobbi. She received her diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Previously, her art studies took her to the Sorbonne University in Paris, the Bourges School of Art, and the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts. For Charlotte Giacobbi, art is a place of unlimited possibilities and is therefore very important to her. She would like to pass on these creative possibilities to others.

ABOUT THE KIDS’ FACTORY

The Kids’ Factory is an offer for you kids. Every Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. you can get creative there according to your mood. Changing techniques and themes entice you to take part in varied and age-appropriate artistic activities. Whether drawing, painting, using different printing techniques or dancing, whether analog, digital or hybrid—we will take you into the world of colors and shapes and appeal to your imagination and creative spirit. Please bring your parents along to accompany you. You can join in at any time.
