Description

Cy Twombly is primarily known for his paintings, although sculpture also played a key role for him from the outset. Assemblages of everyday objects, which Twombly covered with plaster and white paint, have become particularly characteristic. Ordinary objects were thus removed from their use and elevated to something aesthetically enduring. In this guided tour, curator Monika Bayer-Wermuth provides insight into the important collection of sculptures in the Brandhorst Collection.
