Themes

Technology and media, identity, social criticism, gender issues or body image? Contemporary art is diverse, just like its themes! We have gathered some of these together here, which also occupy the artists in our collection and which might also provide you with exciting perspectives!

After Work—Let's talk about art!

After college or work we invite you to a stimulating hour at Museum Brandhorst. At each event we invite people from different social backgrounds to look at a work of art from a very personal and more or less unusual perspective. In a relaxed atmosphere, the focus is on a shared exchange of views in front of the works. The conversation can be continued, if desired, with music and drinks in the Café im Zebra.

And: Action!

Would you like to get artistic at home and create art using different techniques? Or take a closer look at artists and their works and discuss them with others?

This way, please!

How can the “Factory” be supported?

We want to continuously develop and improve the “Factory” in order to meet the needs of a wide range of different target groups, do justice to the complexity of general social issues, and inspire an artistic view of the world. We also want to open the museum to everyone, but especially children and teens.

If you support these aims or would like to learn more about the “Factory,” we would be happy to hear from you:
