More about the artwork

The remote control in one hand, the head propped up on the other, a person lies lonely on the couch with their legs drawn up. Only the sleeping cat provides company. The figure looks sleepily out of the picture with half-open eyes, not directly at the viewer, but rather at a television, the back of which can be seen in the foreground of the picture. The architecture around the scene seems to be dissolving. Bricks have come loose from the broken wall that gives us a view of this private space, and have arranged themselves precisely, but without reference to reality, in the room. “Reality Show” is what Nicole Eisenman ambiguously calls this painting, created in 2022, which for many of us reflects our own reality of the past two years.
