Manuela Ammer 

Information about the person

Manuela Ammer is a curator at mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, where she has mounted exhibitions such as “Steve Reinke: Butter” (2020), “Pattern and Decoration: Ornament as Promise” (2019), “Bruno Gironcoli: Shy at Work” (2018), “Painting 2.0: Expression in the Information Age” (2016, with Achim Hochdörfer, David Joselit, and Tonio Kröner), and “Always, Always, Others: Non-classical Forays into Modernism” (2015, with Ulrike Müller). From 2011 to 2014, she was a research associate of the Collaborative Research Centre 626: “Aesthetic Experience and the Dissolution of Artistic Limits,” at the Freie Universität Berlin. Ammer has contributed to such journals and magazines as “Frieze,” “Texte zur Kunst,” and “Parkett” and has authored monographic essays on the work of numerous artists.
