After Work at Kunstareal: Munich Expats x Museum Brandhorst

Are you an expat in Munich? Join an after-work evening with guided tours of “Confrontations” and “Long Story Short.”

Confrontations

“Confrontations” brings together pairs of works from the Brandhorst Collection that have no art-historical or formal relationship to each other. It is precisely in their contrasts that these pairings generate a special tension: they open up new spaces for thought, engage our intuition, and evoke emotions. Sometimes moving, sometimes subtle, sometimes humorous, and always ambiguous, they create a conversation between and about art.

Long Story Short

“Long Story Short” tells a story of contemporary art from the 1960s to the present from the holdings of the Brandhorst Collection. Each room is an exhibition in its own right: from Arte Povera to monographic presentations, from formal-aesthetic discourses to socio-political topics. Works that have never been shown before and new acquisitions enter into a dialog with the museum's icons and open up new perspectives on the collection.
