Post-apocalyptic Realism

Description

Representations of a world on the abyss determine the present. They depict our time on the brink of an imminent, irreversible and final catastrophe, be it economic, ecological or social. The contributions reflect the relations between subject and world according to their fictional, speculative and factual ends and ask: In which forms and vocabulary can we tell of ourselves as deconstructed yet powerful post-apocalyptic subjects? "Post-apocalyptic Realism" is published in dialogue with the book "Post-apocalyptic Self-Reflection" (Westphalie, 2018) after the series of events "Postapokalyptischer Realismus: It's After the End of the World. Don't You Know That Yet?" (March 17/18/24/25/31, April 1, 2017) at Museum Brandhorst.
