Workshop for children at the Kunstmobil | Pop-Up Factory: Flower Power – Power

Key data

Description

Every Sunday, the Kunstmobil is transformed into a Pop-Up Factory on the grounds of Museum Brandhorst. After a taster tour of the museum, kids can get creative in workshops there and chat with our team about art. The program inspires children to discover the artworks in a totally new way. In keeping with our highlights from the Brandhorst Collection, everything here revolves from July to September around the theme of “Flower-Power”.

The artist Cy Twombly was very interested in history. In his largest work, which is also the largest work of art in Museum Brandhorst, he addressed an important naval battle. It took place almost 500 years ago, and – as so often – it was about power. At the time there was a battle for power in the Mediterranean. Power also means strength. Who was the stronger in this battle, and why? We not only dive into history together, but also examine how an artist depicts the topic 500 years later. In this way, we not only get to know history, but also Cy Twombly. Then it’s your turn: using only color, line, and form, put your own “power” on paper.
