Workshop for children | Pop-Up Factory: Flower Power – Peace

Key data

Description

Every Sunday, the Kunstmobil is transformed into a Pop-Up Factory on the grounds of Museum Brandhorst. After a taster tour of the museum, kids can get creative in workshops there and chat with our team about art. The program inspires children to discover the artworks in a totally new way. In keeping with our highlights from the Brandhorst Collection, everything here revolves from July to September around the theme of “Flower-Power”.

If you ask people what they want most, many say: “a peaceful world.” The “flower power” generation also dreamed of this and used various peace symbols, such as the white dove or the rainbow. Artist Louise Lawler combines a disco ball with an image of fighter planes. This creates a contradiction. Do we feel threatened by the light reflections emitted by the sphere, or would we prefer to dance to it? Should we try it out? Later, we make peace signs together with our great button machine.
