Workshop for children at the Kunstmobil | Pop-Up Factory: Flower Power – Flowers

Key data

Description

One Sunday a month, the Kunstmobil is transformed into a Pop-Up Factory on the grounds of Museum Brandhorst. After a taster tour of the museum, kids can get creative in workshops there and chat with our team about art. The program inspires children to discover the artworks in a totally new way. In keeping with our highlights from the Brandhorst Collection, everything here revolves from July to September around the theme of “Flower-Power”.

Flowers and painting have something in common: they achieve their effect though their form and in their play with colors. Andy Warhol’s and Cy Twombly’s flower paintings show you how different shades of color have an effect on the same motif, and how much “power” they have – how expressive flowers can be when painted in large formats. But that is not the only reason why flowers have always been such a popular subject in art. Here you can learn a special copying technique that Andy Warhol developed during his studies.
