Description

We too often perceive our own physicality as insufficient, as not standing up to comparison with others or with idealized images. This  perception of our own physicality is largely defined by everyday technologies – for example in the form of image-filters, image processing, social media, but also through filter algorithms, which amplify fallacious ideals, or software, which excludes entire populations. Accordingly, which bodies are perceived as bodies at all? Which things are exaggerated, distorted, changed? Yet these technical constructs are also disputable and vulnerable in themselves, in their intentions and their implications.

Together we want to discuss questions of identity, exclusion through technology, and the surveillance of our bodies in a fully technologized world.

The workshop will be run by the artist Niloufar Shirani. The number of participants is limited. If you wish to reserve a place, please register at buchung@pinakothek.de. Possible workshop languages: German, English, Persian (Farsi).
