Description

PICTURES IN MOTION

In this workshop we will introduce you to stop-motion animation. For this purpose we will visit the exhibition “Nicole Eisenman. What Happened.” The artist’s works tell stories about people, politics, and our society. In many cases, they appear to us as complex snapshots and provide numerous starting points for our own imagination. For example, we might ask ourselves: what happened before, and how will the story continue? Which details or characters stick out in our minds and why?

In the Factory room we will then let Eisenman’s work inspire us to create our own stories, design characters and backdrops, and set them in motion using stop-motion technology. Short animated films will be created. And of course you can continue your experiments at home or in another workshop.

The workshop will be run by art historian and educator Ricarda Wolf. In addition to her freelance work, she is employed as a research assistant at the Museum Education Center. Her focus is on modern and contemporary art with a special interest in text-image connections, and American art that engages with social and political discourses. Ricarda Wolf studied art history and business administration Tübingen, Munich and Venice.
