Description

MASH-UP – FIGURATIVE PAINTING

The Factory workshops always focus on different techniques so that you can learn about them and experiment with them. This workshop is about figurative painting. As a basis, we will use a relief printing technique that works similarly to monotype, yet achieves completely different effects. It exploits the adhesive power of acrylic paints.

For this we ask you to bring a photograph with a motif that you would like to paint. It doesn’t have to be a high quality print, a home printed photo will suffice for our purposes. It should be as large as the format you want for your painting. Based on the print, we will work with acrylic paints and discover painterly units. Among other things, we will explore how to set the scene for a figure.

The workshop will be run by artist Lina Zylla. Her artistic practice focuses on the manipulation of reality and revolves around how it is triggered and preserved. In her installations and performances, she responds in painting and visually-acoustically to the spaces at hand. After studying art history at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Lina Zylla studied painting and sculpture under Günther Förg and Florian Pumhösl, and received her diploma in art at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich as a master student in 2019.

THE OPEN FACTORY

Every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., the intergenerational drop-in format “Open Factory” provides the right setting to get creative with the whole family or with friends. Changing techniques and themes entice you to take part in varied artistic projects, and to stroll through the exhibitions. Whether drawing, painting, using different printing techniques or dancing, whether analog, digital or hybrid—we will take you into the world of colors and shapes and appeal to your imagination and creative spirit.
