Description

TELL STORIES! ABOUT WOLF CLAWS, CATS AND OTHER URBAN DWELLERS …

Stories have always served as a means to familiarize ourselves with the past, but also with possible future developments. Through stories we can ask ourselves questions such as: “What if…?” or “Imagine if there were…?” Together we want to dive into the adventurous visual worlds of Nicole Eisenman. We will get to know the characters and their surroundings. While chatting in front of the artworks, our very own individual ideas will already start to emerge.

Inspired by this, you will develop your own story, which you can draw as a fold-out comic strip or photograph with your smartphone. You don’t need to be able to draw or take super photos in order to create an exciting picture story. In this workshop you will learn how to combine pictures and text to create your own little comic or photo story.

The workshop will be run by art historian and educator Dr. Barbara Dabanoğlu. She wrote her doctoral thesis on Cy Twombly’s sculptures and was a research assistant in the art education department at Museum Brandhorst during the exhibition project “Future Bodies from a Recent Past.” She has developed numerous analog and digital workshop formats, and also conceived the inclusive youth project “Kunstlinge” for the Pinakotheken.

THE OPEN FACTORY

Every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., the intergenerational drop-in format “Open Factory” provides the right setting to get creative with the whole family or with friends. Changing techniques and themes entice you to take part in varied artistic projects, and to stroll through the exhibitions. Whether drawing, painting, using different printing techniques or dancing, whether analog, digital or hybrid—we will take you into the world of colors and shapes and appeal to your imagination and creative spirit.
