Description

LAYERS OF THE SELF

What defines me and my world? How can I portray myself or others in it? We will approach this question creatively in this workshop.  Andy Warhol and Keith Haring staged themselves and people in their works in an impressive way. Apply this to yourself and your friends. Use a photo of yourself or your friends as a basis. Use transparent paper and simple, strong lines to create an expressive motif. We will work on this further. Using colored paper and surfaces as well as cut-outs from magazines, we will transform it into a unique picture. Let your imagination run wild! Create an artwork that shows the most formative aspects of an identity.

The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area of the Factory space (lower level) and is run by the artist Janna Jirkova.

THE OPEN FACTORY

Every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., the intergenerational drop-in format “Open Factory” provides the right setting to get creative with the whole family or with friends. Changing techniques and themes entice you to take part in varied artistic projects, and to stroll through the exhibitions. Whether drawing, painting, using different printing techniques or dancing, whether analog, digital or hybrid—we will take you into the world of colors and shapes and appeal to your imagination and creative spirit.
