Description

IDENTITIES – HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY AND WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE?

Many artists are occupied with themselves, their feelings, and their position in society – this is called identity. And then they act it out for others. The artist Nicole Eisenman, for example, likes to deal with people and identities. In our current exhibition, we will view many of her works together and examine how differently she portrays people.

Because somehow we are all different, and indeed can differ from day to day. Today you feel great, yet tomorrow you might not be in such a good mood. Sometimes you might wish you were someone or something else. Perhaps you know this feeling? That is our chance: In this workshop you can live out what is inside you! Do you feel like a big whale today? Or perhaps like your little sister, or an alien? Do you want to slip into the role of your mom or your teacher, in order to understand them better? Maybe you wish to be a dolphin-human for a day, or an axolotl? You can do all of that with us, can collage, paint, draw, and compose using a variety of materials. We can’t wait to see what you are capable of!

The workshop will be run by Ronit Wolf. She is an artist and organizer of the first interdisciplinary Munich Science & Fiction Festival. In her artistic practice she brings together strange worlds and unknown dimensions, which we can discover within ourselves.

THE OPEN FACTORY

Every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., the intergenerational drop-in format “Open Factory” provides the right setting to get creative with the whole family or with friends. Changing techniques and themes entice you to take part in varied artistic projects, and to stroll through the exhibitions. Whether drawing, painting, using different printing techniques or dancing, whether analog, digital or hybrid—we will take you into the world of colors and shapes and appeal to your imagination and creative spirit.
