CONTACT DRAWING
A workshop for all. Inspired by the art at Museum Brandhorst, we draw collaborative works.
"If I was asked [...] to just draw a picture, I wouldn't know what to do. Everything I do is a response to something else."
Lucy McKenzie
Spontaneously, we respond to an artwork of our choice. Afterwards, we pass our sketch around and receive one from another person. On this drawing we add something, responding to what was created before. We can try our hand at the same style, draw something appropriate to the content, continue a form, or simply repeat the motif. We can also refine the sketch, or comment on it. In this way we creatively discover different ideas for a work of art. We let ourselves be surprised and inspired. In the process, we try out new drawing styles, engage with each other, and learn from and with each other.
"Art should be something that liberates the soul, stimulates the imagination and encourages people to go further. It celebrates humanity instead of manipulating it."
Keith Haring
The workshop will be led by graphic designer and illustrator Carla Nagel.
THE OPEN FACTORY
Every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., the intergenerational drop-in format "Open Factory" provides a great framework to allow you to get creative with the whole family or with friends, just as the mood takes you. Different techniques and topics inspire varied artistic pursuits and strolls through the exhibitions. Whether drawing, painting, working with different printing techniques, dancing; whether analog, digital or hybrid, we will whisk you away to the world of colors and shapes, and appeal to your imagination and creative spirit.
