Description
In the exhibition “Long Story Short,” you will find a series of photographs by Victor Burgin. The pairs of images combined with text are collected under the title “Zoo 78” and show a picture of Berlin in the 1980s.
What comes to mind when you think of the general idea of a city? When evoking a feeling or a mental image of this city, what pictures come to mind? Where do you find writing and text in your environment and how can you make it a part of your own photography?
In the workshop, you can take photographs and write texts. What happens when you combine a pair of images with text? At the end, these pairs of images are turned into a small folded booklet.
The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area of the Factory space (lower level) and is run by the photographer Verena Hägler. She studied photography at Zurich University of the Arts and works as a freelance photographer at the intersection of documentary, conceptual, and subjective photography. She has been involved in empirical urban research for some time and published “RAND” (Spector Books) in 2022. She teaches at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, among other places.
On Janurary 25, 2026 the workshop will take place in the Lounge (upper level).
