Description
ABC OF SIGNS
A workshop for everyone interested in lettering design. Together we will explore Museum Brandhorst and draw a typeface.
We will look for shapes in the museum building and in the exhibited artworks, try out the artists’ working methods, and draw letters and symbols. In the process, we always add something of ourselves, for example, a mood. Completely different signs and symbols will emerge that are linked to both the museum and its visitors, and together they will create a new typeface.
The workshop will be run by graphic designer and illustrator Carla Nagel. She has worked for many years for museums and book publishers, among others, as well as in the field of science education. For Museum Brandhorst she has designed several art expeditions for children and the ActioncARTs. In addition, she realizes free artistic projects.
THE SILVER FACTORY
The open drop-in format “Silver Factory” is designed for adults and teens. Every second Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. it provides the appropriate framework to get creative yourself as the mood takes you. Commemorating Andy Warhol’s famous “Silver Factory” different techniques and themes inspire varied artistic pursuits across media: Whether drawing, painting, working with different printing techniques, dancing; whether analog, digital or hybrid... drop by and let yourself be carried away into the world of colors and shapes in a relaxed atmosphere.
