Description

In her works, Alexandra Bircken subjects sculptural concepts of Arte povera and textile art to a cool update, expanding them to include questions of technology, and with her analog approach she has played a significant role in shaping central themes of sculpture since the 2000s. The guided tour provides an insight into the largest solo exhibition to date by the artist Alexandra Bircken, who was born in 1967: from her first sculpture, a small woolen work created in 2003, to large installations that she conceived especially for the rooms of Museum Brandhorst on the occasion of this exhibition.
