Description
Arthur Fink, co-curator of the exhibition, provides insights into the themes and artworks, as well as the special friendship between the two famous artists. Warhol and Haring met in New York in the early 1980s. Social upheaval, political concerns, capitalism, the art scene and the city's club culture influenced their artistic work during this period. The exhibition shows how the artists developed their unique styles and disseminated them and the messages of their art in a wide variety of media, channels, and spaces.
It presents Warhol's later works such as the "Time Capsule" and Haring's "Subway Drawings", as well as video works, paintings, posters and album covers, which both created together and in collaboration with other artists, musicians, and authors. The curatorial tour offers new perspectives on Warhol's and Haring's cosmos in New York in the 1980s.
