Description

Positive or negative? Artists such as Alexandra Bircken, Robert Gober, Philippe Parreno, and Nairy Baghramian enjoy playing with different materials. They often use unusual materials for their three-dimensional artworks, sometimes causing confusion.

In this workshop, we will explore the interplay between negative and positive forms. What happens when we transform shapes and impressions into a different material? You will use clay to make an impression of an object. Then you will fill this mold with plaster. Once the plaster has dried, you can take a small relief home with you.

The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area of the Factory space (lower level) and is run by the artist Janna Jirkova, who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. She works as a freelance artist at the intersection of new media, sculpture, and performance. Since 2018, she has also been working as an art educator at various museums in Munich.
