Helin Alas' installation is opening the exhibition "Site Visit" in the patio of the Museum Brandhorst. The artistic practice of the Munich-based artist is characterized by a conceptual engagement with the infrastructures and socio-political dynamics of contemporary art production and presentation. On 8 March 2022, a talk between Alas and research associate Franziska Linhardt will take place. Together they will talk about sculptural wands in the museum, the magic and mystification of art systems, and the importance of companionship.
Accessible free of charge via the Instagram channel @museumbrandhorst, the live format #MBMeetTheArtist offers a unique opportunity to get to know artists up close. The topics of the casual conversations range from past works to future projects. There is also the opportunity to ask questions to the curators and artists. The virtual meeting invites to participate, to get to know each other and to exchange ideas, and thus represents an opportunity that many have recently missed: Getting together with friends.
