Description

Museum Brandhorst is known worldwide for its collection of works by the American artist Cy Twombly (1928–2011). His works can be experienced in an impressive ambience on the upper floor. The unique “Lepanto” Room shows his twelve-part monumental cycle from 2001, while the Rose Room hosts his late rose paintings, created in 2008 especially for Museum Brandhorst, which he set in relation to verses by Ingeborg Bachmann, T. S. Eliot, Patricia Waters, Rainer Maria Rilke and Emily Dickinson.
