Description

BLOTTED LINE – ONE MOTIF, THOUSANDS OF POSSIBILITIES!

Andy Warhol loved reproduction. He already worked with printing techniques as a graphic arts student, in order to produce his ideas in serial form. During the Junge Nacht you can get to know a very simple method known as “monotype” at our Kunstmobil. Using the so-called “blotted line” technique, Warhol created images from fine dotted and broken ink lines, which became the trademark of his early illustrations. His motifs ranged from extravagant shoes to his beloved cats. He invited his friends to “coloring parties” to color in the outlines of the prints: in this way, hundreds of his prints became unique, colorful originals.

Create your own “blotted line” motif and become part of our “coloring party”! We look forward to seeing you at the Kunstmobil.
