Description
Alexandra Bircken sees the skin as our “interface with the world.” In her works, therefore, she focuses intensively on our largest organ, but also on our “second skin,” the textiles and materials in which we wrap ourselves. She is just as interested in the structuring principles of material as in the identity-forming role of clothing. The guided tour offers an in-depth look at Bircken’s work through selected pieces.
