FANTASTIC COINCIDENCES—CREATURES OUT OF CONTROL!
Today we hand over control at the entrance and create fantastic creatures in the middle of the museum.
Many artists play with chance: this time we are inspired by John Cage and Merce Cunningham. Cage sometimes used an oracle principle to make the creation of his music independent. He and his partner Merce Cunningham worked closely together and also used chance in dance and for performances.
In this workshop, we will explore expressive possibilities that circulate in the universe independently of our own ideas. Using a creative creature oracle, you will take part in a fantastic game in which you create dream creatures with the help of themed cards. These can be colorfully snipped, glued, drawn, painted and moved—bringing chance to life!
The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area in the Factory room (lower level). It is run and conceived by the interdisciplinary artist Ronit Wolf, who has been bringing art, science fiction and science to Earth in festivals and events for a decade. She teaches at schools and museums and cultivates mythical creatures in her spare time, which she often brings to Museum Brandhorst.

The Kids’ Factory is an offer for you kids. Every Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. you can get creative there according to your mood. Changing techniques and themes entice you to take part in varied and age-appropriate artistic activities. Whether drawing, painting, using different printing techniques or dancing, whether analog, digital or hybrid—we will take you into the world of colors and shapes and appeal to your imagination and creative spirit. Please bring your parents along to accompany you. You can join in at any time.
