Description
DANCE OF THE LINES
In Cy Twombly’s paintings, lines unfold as if in a dance-like vortex—powerful, spontaneous and full of expression. This visual language is created through a physical gesture, a performative movement that goes beyond words.
In the workshop, we want to look at Twombly’s artistic practice.
We will explore the connection between Abstract Expressionism and performance. Through spiraling, rotating lines and circular movements of the body, we will approach the processes of creation. We will also look at parallels between the artist’s gestural expression and Persian spiral motifs.
The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area of the Factory space (lower level) and is run by artist Niloufar Shirani.
