CREATIVE VOID
A white canvas can be both inspiring and challenging. White walls in public spaces invite people to leave messages or doodles. Or you might sit in front of a blank sheet of paper and find it difficult to put something new on it. We want to experiment with this—and imperfection is our goal.
In this workshop, we will first work sculpturally: inspired by Cy Twombly’s sculptures, we will take found objects as our starting material. We combine forms and “cover” them with white paint. We can then further shape them with messages, doodles and graphics and create something unexpected.
The workshop will take place outside behind the Museum Brandhorst and will be run by the artist Janna Jirkova, who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. She works as a freelance artist at the interface of new media, installation and performance, and has also been working as an art educator at various museums in Munich since 2018.
