Description
COLLAGE & COINCIDENCE
Images from media are everywhere! Artists such as Kelley Walker, Raymond Saunders, and Arthur Jafa collect these images and use them to create new works of art.
What happens when you randomly bring together photos, texts, and other found objects? You will explore this in the workshop. By combining and layering different elements, you will create images with many layers. When you remove parts of the surface, new and surprising visual combinations emerge.
The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area of the Factory space (lower level) and is run by the artist Elli Hurst. She is an artist who explores natural structures and surface textures in her work. Nature serves as a source of inspiration and the basis for her artistic creative process. Elli Hurst experiments with different techniques, reacts to chance occurrences, and revises her works in many phases, layer by layer, until the final form is found. The resulting painterly abstract works can be interpreted as patchwork topographies or detailed views of organic forms.
