Description

In the summer holiday program “Materialized Image”, we will discover the art of Robert Rauschenberg. Robert believed that the world itself is one big picture. He collected many different things from his surroundings and incorporated them into his art. He used various artistic techniques. He painted, drew, photographed, printed, designed costumes and much more. He called pictures in which he combined different things “Combines”. He was known for his astonishing combinations. These also emerged from the picture frame and became something between painting and sculpture.

In our five days together, we go on an exciting journey of discovery. Just like Robert did back then. We look at his artworks and talk about them. We collect objects from our surroundings and come up with crazy combinations. But we also use technology that didn't exist back then. Maybe you can see sounds or hear colors? We experiment with light, sound, film and movement! In the end, we will create our own Combine Paintings. The workshop is suitable for all children who are curious and enjoy discovering new things!

The workshop will take place in the ticket-free area in the Factory room (lower level) as well as the galleries. If the weather is good, we will also work outside at the Art Mobile.

The program will be run by artist Charlotte Giacobbi. She received her diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Previously, her art studies took her to the Sorbonne University in Paris, the Bourges School of Art and the Braunschweig Academy of Fine Arts. For Charlotte Giacobbi, art is a place of unlimited possibilities and is therefore very important to her. She would like to pass this creative potential on to others.
