Description

As part of the exhibition “Carrying”, we invite you to experience dance as a living memory.

Dance is more than just a way to let go of everyday life: Kurdish dance represents community, resistance and storytelling. It’s a special opportunity to come together in a circle, learn to dance, discover the background stories and simply have fun together. Whether you’re a beginner, an advanced dancer, or someone with a disability – you’re all welcome.

We’ll be dancing to rarely heard Kurdish music cassettes – relics of a time when the Kurdish language was banned and Kurdish music had to circulate in secret.

Come along, join the circle and become part of a living history.

The workshop will be led by Suzan Çakar.

In collaboration with Habibi Kiosk / Münchner Kammerspiele
