Description
In recent decades outstanding pieces of “German Pop” were acquired for the Museum Brandhorst collection. The latest examples are Jörg Immendorff’s “Teine Tunst mache,” Thomas Bayrle’s “Vasarely” (both 1965) and in particular the donation of a group of six early paintings by K.H. Hödicke. The tour explores the conservative understanding of art in postwar Germany as negotiated in the works.
