Description
Five Six, Seven, Eight …
In this dance workshop, we will explore the ideas of the American choreographer Merce Cunningham. At the center of Cunningham’s work was always the potential of our own bodies. How can we use dance and movement to convey emotions and experience new spaces? Let's get to know Merce Cunningham’s ideas and working methods together!
In the workshop, we explore spatial direction, rhythm and dynamics. Impulses such as the principle of chance or the observation of everyday gestures offer us inspiration. Alone, in pairs and in groups, we develop our own movement sequences. We experiment with our perception of space, music and sound. We think and dance Cunningham’s ideas further. In the end, we create our very own choreographies!
