Description
For the first time, works by the New York and Munich-based artists Maria VMier are being presented at the same time in the sister museums Pinakothek der Moderne and Museum Brandhorst: As part of ‘Walk the Line’ under the title ‘TURMOIL. Hans Hartung and Maria VMier’ at the Pinakothek der Moderne, two large-format, gestural works on paper by VMier can be seen in dialogue with works by Hartung. At Museum Brandhorst, a context-specific intervention by VMier occupies the centre of Cy Twombly's Hall of Roses. In this project entitled ‘no: tongue breaks and thin fire is racing under skin’, they interweave their painterly and sculptural practice with collaborative strategies.
Curators Franziska Linhardt and Judith Csiki will guide you through the two presentations in a dialogue that spans the two buildings.
The tour begins in Cy Twombly's Hall of Roses at the Museum Brandhorst and ends in Room 24 in the Pinakothek der Moderne.
