Description
“Carrying” brings together different artistic positions that address discourses found in existing works of the collection, exploring them in terms of both content and form. In the process, references become apparent, as do tensions and differences. On the tour, we discuss the strategies that artists use to engage with images and narratives of (art) history—aiming to continue, undermine, or invert them. The focus here is on works by Hêlîn Alas, Louise Lawler, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, and Leyla Yenirce.
