Description
Museum Brandhorst hosts a breakfast viewing of Turato’s commissioned flags in presence of the artist.
The museum presents four flags by artist Nora Turato as part of its inaugural Brandhorst Flag Commission. Turato is one of the most celebrated artists working with language today. She has become one of the most incisive observers of meaning - and its absence - in a linguistic era determined by the rapid pace of online life. On the corner of the Türkenstraße and the Theresienstraße, Turato's flags are positioned to bring art directly to the museum's public. Turato’s flags feature the phrase “words something you can get from anybody,” an indication of both the abundance and scarcity of language today.
Nora Turato was born in 1991 in Zagreb (Croatia) and lives and works in Amsterdam (NL).
The event takes place within the program of Various Others.
