Description

How is our everyday life choreographed? Madeline Hollander (*1986) joins Museum Brandhorst for a talk and conversation rooted in her artistic practice. Hollander works across mediums ranging from choreography and performance to drawing, video, and installation. Her 2021 installation "Sunrise/Sunset" provides a unifying component of the Site Visit program. Throughout her works, Hollander engages with social and technological systems. These systems provide material for her to engage critically and playfully with the various ecosystems that comprise our world. Likewise, Hollander is inveterate collaborator who works closely with performers, musicians, programmers, and infrastructural organizations as much as arts institutions to produce her works. Her work has been featured in the 2019 Whitney Biennial and she has been honored with numerous commissions and solo exhibitions across the world.

Museum Brandhorst and its facilities are wheelchair accessible. Automated captioning, live translation, and Deutsche Gebärdensprache (DGS) are available for all programs upon request with two weeks' notice. With less than two weeks' notice, Museum Brandhorst will make every effort to provide accessible interpretation. Please write to info@museum-brandhorst.de to make any accessibility requests.
