Description

Today, artworks are often charged with tension: they engage with social dynamics or bridge opposites. The exhibition “Confrontations” creates a dialogue between contrasting positions; in the photographic series “You Are The Weather,” artist Roni Horn explores the dynamic interplay of sameness and difference within a single artwork; and Cy Twombly’s “Lepanto” cycle is a painterly dedication to one of  the most symbolic naval battles in history.

Benedikt Johannes Seerieder addresses these and other tensions in the series “An Hour with…”, in which museum staff guide you through current exhibitions and invite you to engage in dialogue.

Benedikt Johannes Seerieder has been a curator at the Museum Brandhorst since August 2025. In his curatorial practice, he explores the various contexts of art—from its production and presentation in exhibitions to its reception and public engagement. His personal focus lies in creating space for multiple perspectives and continually asking how art and the present relate to one another.
