Description

Relax while experiencing a work of art. We focus on a single work whose sensual effect accompanies us into the evening. There’s no pressure to gain knowledge or to get involved; rather, empathy and dialog are encouraged. After a while we move to ZEBRA, our museum café, where we deepen the conversation and have the opportunity to get to know each other. Because art is all about exchange.

Keith Haring „Untitled (Subway Drawing)“, 1983

His stick figures do not deny their origins in comics and graffiti. Keith Haring populated the New York streets and underground stations of the 1980s with his visual worlds and codes. He created works in which, as in our example from the Brandhorst Collection, he drew directly onto blank advertising spaces. How the banal and the virtuoso balance each other in this process provides the material for a closer look.
