Workshop for children at the Kunstmobil | Pop-Up Factory: Flower Power – Freedom

Every Sunday, the Kunstmobil is transformed into a Pop-Up Factory on the grounds of Museum Brandhorst. After a taster tour of the museum, kids can get creative in workshops there and chat with our team about art. The program inspires children to discover the artworks in a totally new way. In keeping with our highlights from the Brandhorst Collection, everything here revolves from July to September around the theme of “Flower-Power”.

When Andy Warhol became famous, the flower power movement of the 1960s was in full swing. He himself was not part of it, but he too dreamed of living, partying and working together with friends. To this end, he rented an old fire station in New York as a studio and called the house the “Factory”. Warhol moved the Factory several times, but the dream of making art, music and films together remained. There are large photographs by Richard Avedon in our collection that show some of the Factory members. How do they look to you? What does freedom mean to you? What would your dream world look like? Who would you like to live with there? With magazine pictures, glue, paint and scissors you can create your own free world.
