Description

Artworks attract us in many different ways. They agitate us or give us pause for thought, and sometimes their humor makes us laugh. Some artworks have such a strong effect that we can remember our encounter with them many years later. Each month, a different curator chooses a work from our online collection and, in a digital dialog, shares with us not only art historical facts and background knowledge, but also their personal experiences and thoughts.

Use the opportunity to ask questions and to chat with us about art – perhaps while enjoying a cup of  tea or an after-work drink.

Sabrina Göb guides us through the online collection of Museum Brandhorst using German Sign Language. She provides exciting insights into the group of works “Ladies and Gentlemen” (1975) by the American Pop Art artist Andy Warhol (1928-1887). For this project he photographed drag queens of color from the New York trans scene at his studio. He then used these as the basis for a series of color-intensive paintings and collages. Let’s explore together, share experiences and perspectives, and reflect on the artwork.

With Sabrina Göb, Museum Signers

Museum Signers are deaf people trained in the communication of art and culture. The tour is aimed at persons who use German Sign Language as their first or second language. The tour will not be translated.

When your registration is confirmed you will receive a link to the online offer and, for the workshops, also a list of materials. After all, our workshops are not only about listening and watching, but also doing and making.
