Giampaolo Bianconi

Curator Giampaolo Bianconi has come to the Brandhorst after six years at The Museum of Modern Art, New York, where he was a curator for the inaugural reinstallation of MoMA's collection following its 2019 expansion. At MoMA, he acquired numerous works for the museum's collection and organized exhibitions, performances, and events including "Thinking Machines: Art and Design in the Computer Age 1959-1989" (2017) and "Cinthia Marcelle" (MoMA PS1, 2017). His writing appears in catalogues including "Petra Cortright" (Skira, Milan, 2020), "Agnes Denes: Absolutes and Intermediates" (The Shed, New York, 2019), and "Judson Dance Theater: The Work is Never Done" (The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 2018); as well as in the publications "Artforum", "Frieze", and "Rhizome". Giampaolo Bianconi is hosting the series #MBMeetTheArtist.
